HOW TO FIND THE BEST SUNGLASSES
TO PROTECT YOUR EYES
1. Look for shatterproof lenses.
You only have 2 eyes and shattered lens shards could cost you your vision. Look for lenses made out of Polycarbonate (PC) (the same material used in bullet proof glass) as they won't shatter like glass will if impacted. For even more eye protection, look for lenses that meet the ANSI Z87.1 standard.
2. Find the right fit.
You’re going to be wearing these shades for hundreds of hours over their lifetime. Depending on your face structure, an adjustable nose pad can help ensure a secure & comfortable fit.
3. 100% UVA/UVB or UV400 protection is a must.
Lack of proper UV protection puts you at a greater risk of developing cataracts, temporary blindness, blurred vision & even cancer. This can easily be avoided.
4. Polarized makes a world of difference.
Unless you are a pilot or using them skiing, polarization is a must have.
5. Invest in durable & long lasting frames.
Try to find sunglasses made from either a metal or a nylon frame depending on the style. Certain nylon is ultra-durable and will survive even if you accidentally sit or step on it.
